Express Delivery

Product Design Lead
The Problem
Sometimes, inventory forecasting is inaccurate and that can lead to unexpected out of stock products for bar and store owners that would need to replenish stock quickly.
Goals
To allow users the option to receive products on the same day they order them while covering logistics costs.

01 Pre-Work

We kicked off the project with a half day workshop to align product, design, and stakeholders on a shared vision for an MVP solution.

After the workshop, Design, Product, and Engineering regrouped to create a high level requirements document which helps identify the problem we are trying to solve and creates our hypothesis on how to solve it.

02 Design Exploration

Starting with some light competitive analysis to see good examples of how other apps execute Express Delivery.

Looking at existing research on best practices for Delivery options for e-commerce.

Jotting down some ideas on paper and then moving into Sketch.

Creating many ideas then narrowing down to a 2 or 3 to share with the team.

03 Reviews and Revisions

Share work in progress designs during ad-hoc and scheduled team review sessions. Align on the direction we think is best suited for our users considering MVP, timelines, and stakeholders.

Since this is a high profile feature, I created a deck to share with stakeholders to help explain why we chose this direction and to walk through the major user flows.
